Abstract:
Thisstudy evaluated government and donor agencies’ intervention projects in Ado Local
Government, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria. The study also examined the factors that called for
intervention project in Ado Local Government Area; identified the better intervention projects
into which government and donor agencies should invest their resources andinvestigated the
better focus that the government should have. The study provided answers to some research
questions through a well-structured questionnaire designed to collect data from 120
respondents who have been practiciong as stake holders and beneficiaries of executed
intervention projects by government and donor agencies in Ado-Ekiti Local Government.
Descriptive statistical techniques like frequencies, mean, percentages and pie chart, bar charts
were used to describe the observations and responses from the respondents. Inferential
statistical techniques such as correlations, test of significance, and regression analysis were
used to test for validity, relationship, the before and after effect of intervention project by
government donor agencies in the area. The statistical package for social sciences (SPSS),
Microsoft and Excel 2013 were used for data presentation and analysis. Results showed that
94% variation in quality of life of Ado-Ekiti Local Government Area was explained by
human and environmental development of the area. Poverty had the highest severity of 0.612
relative important index on the economy of the Local Government; though, approximately
80% of government projects and 67% of donor’s intervention projects was carried out on
provision of infrastructural facilities. However, effectiveness, satisfaction and meeting goals
of the projects, investment on alleviation of poverty has to be increased within the Local
Government Area.
