In making the findings of this research possible, one hundred and fifty (150) questionnaires were purposively administered among three (3) selected construction firms’. They were interpreted using descriptive statistics (Percentage, mean, standard deviation and RII). The study revealed that the three stated objectives have direct effect on the health and safety management of the selected firms. This was because there were significant relationships that were established from the study between these variables. From the study, it was recommended that construction firms must be structured and positioned to make changes when it is deemed appropriate and also safety approach must be adopted should not be dependent on the monitoring of injuries after they occur. The government on their part must put adequate regulatory framework for construction industry in regards to health and safety management within their organisation. Also, adequate and enforceable health and safety regulations for construction operations as well as the establishment of construction industry training institutes including trade center’s in different parts of Nigeria must be put into place. en_US
