| dc.description.abstract | Green Human Resource Management Practices and their impacts on organisational performance have received enormous cover in literature. This work looked at six green HRM practices and assessed their effect on operational performance. The main objective of the study was to examine the effect of these green HRM practices on the operational performance of Guaranty Trust Bank in South West, Nigeria. This study assessed the level of green human resource management practices in the study area. It also assessed the level of readiness to adopt green technology in the study area. Furthermore, the study examined the effect of green human resource management practices on operational performance in the study area. The survey research design was adopted for this study. The study was carried out in South West Nigeria. In a study population of 260 respondents, 158 sample size was selected using Yamane (1967) formula. Primary data were used, and the research instrument used to gather the data was questionnaire. The data obtained was analysed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Objectives one, and two were analysed using the frequency, percentage, standard deviation and mean ranking tables, while objective three was analysed using the Multiple Linear Regression. The results of the study found the level of green human resource management practices in the study area to be high. The level of readiness to adopt green technology was also found to be high as shown by a mean score of 3.11 (77.75%). Findings of the study shows that green recruitment (F = 7.496; p < 0.05), green training and development (F = 6.676; p < 0.05), green reward and compensation (F = 14.663; p < 0.05), and green employee empowerment and participation (F = 7.376; p < 0.05) have significant effects on operational performance of Guaranty Trust Bank. The study concluded that green human resource management practices significantly affect the operational performance. The study recommended that bank’s management should ensure that competent and suitable employees are hired for the job. | en_US |
