dc.description.abstract The study analyzed the influence of ergonomic on employee productivity in cocoa exporting companies in Ondo-State. The study assessed the relationship between ergonomic and the employee’s productivity of cocoa exporting companies in Akure Ondo-State while the specific objectives are to: examine how the physical components of environment affect the employee’s productivity of cocoa exporting companies, evaluate how the behavioral component of ergonomics affect the employee’s productivity in cocoa exporting companies, assess the health and safety challenges facing the employees’ productivity in cocoa exporting companies. The study area was restricted to Akure town in Ondo-state. The total population of the staff were 155. The cluster probability sampling technique was used to select 112 respondents using Yaro Yamane formula while the Bowley formula. The data collected were presented using descriptive statistics; it was analyzed with Pearson correlation co-efficient. Pearson correlation coefficient between physical and behavioural component was highly positive and significant at (r= 0.758**). But the correlation between the ergonomic components (physical and behavioural) and health concerns of the employees was found to be negatively significant with (r= -0.459** and -0.298** respectively). The level of significant was positive correlation between the relationship of physical and behavioural component of ergonomic (0.199). The physical component was significantly negative correlated with the health and safety of the workers (-441**). Also the behavioural component was also highly significant negative correlated (-109). It was recommended that cocoa exporting companies’ workers should advocate with management to create a safer and healthy workplace environment that will attract, keep, and motivate its workforce for healthy living and improved productivity these will guarantee virile employees, enthusiastic employers and sustenance of the organization. en_US
