dc.description.abstract Institution based accommodation for staff can be referred to as a staff welfare package to reduce the effect of high cost of rent. It enhances improvement in staff and organizational effectiveness through the provision of comfortable, cross ventilated and well landscaped housing facilities. Accommodation is one of the most important basic necessities of mankind, it is known to tremendously affect human health and well being. It is widely acknowledged that adequate housing or accommodation is essential for good life, is a key requirement for an efficient and satisfied labour force and the foundation of satisfactory community life. Furthermore, researches have shown that housing can affect mental and physical health, both positively and negatively. Staff housing creates a positive organizational climate and enhances improvement in staff and institutional effectiveness through social interaction between staff and easy access to knowledgeable colleagues. Urban residents satisfies the need for a place in the environment which is comfortable and pleasant to live in. Otherwise, their quality of life may be affected. Human naturally tend to live in a comfortable surroundings, and changes in environmental features will have effect on human health, satisfaction and social context. Generally, outdoor thermal comfort problem occurred within urban area as compared to rural area. This situation happened due to the decreases of green area and green buffer within urban area. Understanding the occupants’ perceptions towards their living environment is critical for developing an effective development strategy.The aim of this paper, therefore, is to discuss on the effect of landscaping in improving the comfort level of the proposed staff estate for Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere, Abeokuta, Ogun state. In this research work, chapter one and the two detailed explanation on what institution based accommodation is about, chapter three documented the researcher filed work on selected existing staff accommodations (Case study) while chapter four analyses the proposed site. Furthermore, chapter five concentrates more on construction method. Finally, chapter six is the conclusive work of the research. en_US
