| dc.description.abstract | Designis an important primary step in the processof housing provision. It determines the success orfailure of any housing project provision. It must therefore be well conceptualized and actualized to satisfy the need of the users. Most housing were frustrated because of design peculiarities or limitation that are not supportive to the goals of efficient housing delivery. The aim of this study is to design a comfortable low cost housing to suit residents need requirement. Again, the design would also enhance day to day living of the users and suit users comfortability. The study evaluate dwelling space deficits in government built six mass housing units in different locations using low cost housing schemes by LSDPC as case studies. The aim is to gain better insights into how the interior spaces supplied in the units were designed. The findings showed that most of the low cost housing were deficit in spaces especially in living rooms, bedrooms, kitchen, store, bathrooms and toilet spaces. The write up recommended that low cost housing should be designed to be spacious and not reduced because of cost of production of the houses. Thus. The government can do by stipulating thwe minimum sizes of these spaces for low cost housing and making sure of its strict compliance by the planning authorities. Again low cost houses should also be subsidized in its production by the government. | en_US |
