Abstract:
The Universal role of a museum has been to unify visitors to view objects of cultural
significance, historic significance, scientific significance etc. in other to add to knowledge and interest. For health, Safety and Comfort of staff and visitors, a museum building interior should be provided with adequate light both in quality and quantity. The required
illumination ma be supplied b natural means or artificial means. Daylight is the main
source of natural illumination which enters a space through fenestration either windows on
walls or skylights on a roof. Artificial illumination can be obtained through consumption of
electrical energy in incandescent lamps, fluorescents or other electric lamps. This project lays emphasis on illuminating a museum gallery space b means of artificial light to control the damaging effect daylight on museum objects
