dc.description.abstract Enhancing women's empowerment is essential not only for achieving social justice but also for reducing poverty. Worldwide experience shows clearly that allowing a stronger role for women contributes to economic growth. The aim of this thesis is therefore to proffer an avenue f harnessing, improving and developing the existing potentials and capabilities of women living in Kwara South senatorial district for self-empowerment and higher productivity socially, economically and politically. Women Development centre has proved to be a viable platform for investing in women resources for sustainable development. Over the years various approaches have been applied at enhancing women productivity. These include social, psychological, economical and legal interventions' in their living I and activities. It has also been observed that the effectiveness and I efficiency of a programme or initiative is largely dependent on the environment in which it functions. This thesis seeks to apply an Architectural approach at enhancing women empowerment and poverty reduction in rural areas by providing a functional, stable, aesthetically appealing and suitable design of en_US
