Abstract:
Ondo State was created on the 3rd of February 1976, covering an area of 14,793.189 square kilometers with a population of 3,441,024 (2006 census) and its state capital being Akure. From creation, the state never had a purpose-built permanent National Youth Service Corps orientation camp. The need for unity and peace among Nigerians resulted in the establishment of the NYSC scheme and thus the construction of permanent NYSC Orientation Camps around the country. While review of relevant current liter stares was imperative – analysis of the act and art of camping and national service, the appraisal of choice case studies served as invaluable tools for the realization of the set aim and objectives to help the researcher study their performance and however improve on the existing. Modern National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camps are built to satisfy or meet the need(s) of the scheme which had thus helped to foster unity among youths, to the resonance of national peace and unity. Every graduating youth strongly desires to pass through the scheme and so to provide the best of experiences for them, this design is about enhancing the NYSC scheme through the use of biophilic designs for the facilities to be provided within orientation camp. It will incorporate natural elements into man-made environment in order to make or help humans feel and perform better, thus this research suffices.
