dc.description.abstract Wireless Communication plays an important role in computer Networks due to its high flexibility and low implementation cost. As the number of application areas for wireless technologies grows, the need for providing both prediction and reliable communication over wireless networks becomes apparent. A shared wireless communication medium with dynamically varying propagation characteristics exhibits poor delivery reliability compared to wired network. Guaranteeing real time communication under these conditions represents a significant challenge. In this study a recovery and redundancy model based on Sequential Time Division Multiple Access S-TDMA for wireless communication is developed. The model utilizes a Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol based on Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA). The MAC layer of the S-TDMA determines which station should be allowed to transmit at a given time slot based on the channel state of the station. Simulation of the system models were carried out using MATLAB/ SIMULINK software. SIMULINK blocks from the signal processing and communication block sets were used to model the communication system. The performance of the designed S-TDMA is evaluated using Total link Reliability, System Throughput, Average Probability of Correct Delivery before Deadline and System latency. The results of the evaluation are displayed in graphs and tables. When compared with other two existing models - Instant Retry and Drop of frame - in order to determine its effectiveness in the recovering of loss frames, results were found to be reliable in recovering loss packets than the other two existing models. en_US
