Abstract:
A Project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to accomplish a unique product or service with a defined start and end point and specific objectives that, when attained, signify completion.
A project is successful when it achieves its objectives and meets or exceeds the expectations of the stakeholders. As FUTA STEP-B project grows and its benefits become widespread there is a need to improve on their operations and proper monitoring of projects which is currently performed manually which is time consuming and very tedious.
To alleviate the challenges faced by FUTA STEP-B, this work produces a robust system for FUTA STEP-B for proper procurement, monitoring and evaluation in order to promote operational efficiency and free flow of management information and to guide against project failure.
This research work also is accomplished through the application and integration of the Project Management processes of Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling, and Closing. The system was implemented using C++ and visual studio 2008 user interface control tools at the frontend while xtensible markup language (XML) as the backend. The predictive accuracy of each model is calculated and shows a great deal of the prediction of the model and how it is possible for budget to be predicted and for cost forecasting.
