| dc.description.abstract | Shopping using Near Field Communication aims to be easy, user-friendly, and more convenient. This system developed for a supermarket or mall with an existing electronic shopping system will incorporate the Near Field Communication technology. The application would be used by customer to scan the NFC tags attached to the products in the store. This system will be used in place of the traditional shopping system where people need to carry baskets all over the shopping mall, get the products they need and add it to their baskets. All the products in baskets will be billed at exit counter. This process creates a long queue for checkouts and payments at the exit counter. The overall shopping process takes up a lot of time and more manpower is needed to manage the large crowds. Based on this, a mobile commerce model using Near Field Communications (NFC) was developed using JavaScript as the programming language and Extensible Markup Language which enabled an application with rich user interface, with the Integrated Development Environment platform as Android Studio and the Google firebase as the backend. The project was implemented on an NFC enabled Samsung NOTE 8 device, 4gb ram, 64gb internal phone storage and Android 9.0 Operating System. | en_US |
