Abstract:
The dynamics of Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) stagnation-point fluid flow towards heated shrinking porous surface in the presence of Arrhenius-kinetics and thermal radiation is carried out in this study. The influence of thermal radiation using Rosseland approximation is explored. The governing non-linear partial differential equations are reduced to couple non-linear ordinary differential equations by similarity transformations, the resulting ordinary differential equations are solved numerically via Runge-Kutta-Gill scheme together with quadratic interpolation in conjunction with shooting technique. The effects of Frank-kamenetskii parameter, Hartmann parameter, chemical reaction parameter, non-linear chemical reaction parameter, velocity ratio, Prandtl number, suction and Eckert number on the flow are shown graphically. The results in the present study indicate that increase in Hartmann number increases both the temperature and the velocity of the fluid. Finally, under certain conditions the qualitative properties of the model equations are established.
