dc.description.abstract This research work centers on one-point hybrid block methods for second order ordinary differential equation. In the derivation, power series is used as basis function, methods of collocation and interpolation were adopted to derive the methods. Block techniques were used in each case to implement the new schemes. The properties of the methods were also examined. The derived methods were used on some standard numerical sample problems to test for the accuracy of the methods. The results generated were compared with other results in the literature and the results obtained were found to be better in accuracy. en_US
