| dc.description.abstract | An intruder alarm system monitors and detects unauthorised entry to properties – homes and businesses alike - and alert the property owner or authorised third parties to an intrusion Security is a prime concern in our day-to-day life. An integrated security surveillance system based on the Internet-of-things (IoT) has been developed, constructed and tested in this work. The system consist of SIM800L GSM module which is connected in a manner that when an obstacle comes within 𝟒𝒎 from the raspberry Pi camera, it sends a text massage to a specified phone number via the internet and also trigger an alarm through the buzzer when the object is 𝟐𝒎 closer to the raspberry Pi camera which is controlled using the raspberry Pi controller, the buzzer sounded an alarm notifying user of an intrusion. Arduino Uno controls the SIM800L GSM (Global System of Mobile Communication) module which sends and receives Short Message Service (SMS) notification to alert the user during intrusion, 𝟓𝑽 power supply power the device, Raspberry Pi 3 is used for video streaming (surveillance) and the Pi camera captures the video on-line. The integrated security surveillance system was able to view intruder around the environment, give an on-line video of the intrusion without human intervention., the intruder could as well be seen and viewed anywhere and anytime when one logged-in using the IP address (𝟏𝟗𝟐.𝟏𝟔𝟖.𝟒𝟑.𝟕𝟎) of the camera The integrated security surveillance system was able to sound an alarm, alerting the property owner when there is an intrusion. | en_US |
