| dc.description.abstract | The oxygen converter steel making process has undergone various improvements since its introduction and is now a mainstream steel making process in the steel industry. This work is an attempt to design oxygen converters of different capacities using the physico chemical process and the blowing regime during melting to derive equations for the calculation of converter inner profiles, computer algorithms for design equations using visual basic .programming language was developed. The programme was validated by using Auto Cad to draw the various shapes of the oxygen converter, the higher the tonnes, the higher the height and the wider the diameter, the bulkier the oxygen converter. Visual basic programming language and computer aided design will improve the design of oxygen converters. The recent trend in the equipment technology of oxygen converters is described from the point of view of equipment design. | en_US |
