Abstract:
This thesis has been observed for scholarship purpose to examine the relevance of Nigeria as a store for natural blessing which has become a heritage worthy of examination in Ondo State clay deposit. In addition, this thesis is helping to reawake the consciousness of historical material (clay) that dated the distant past for economic survey premise for future Nigeria and Ondo State economic prosperity. Besides, the total Kaolin clay samples worked on within the scope management of this study observed three different major samples collected from different locations including Omialafa village via Ifon in Ose local government, Omifunfun village via Ode-Irele, Okitipupa Local Government and Akure Township, along Ijapo road, Akure South Local Government. These clay samples from this research are product of sedimentary/ basement weathering of rocks over the years. Thus, the laboratory and ceramic studio analyses were aimed at ascertaining their suitability for ceramic bricks production. With this understanding of this research findings Atterberg Limit, Fire/Colour, Shrinkage, Water Absorption, Hydrometer Analysis and X-ray Fluorescence were observed as parameter which gave the understanding that Akure and Ifon Kaolin samples are not plastic because Akure kaolin is coarse in nature and Ifon sample composed silica. Omifunfun via Ode-Irele sample is plastic because of the pure clay element. The subjection of these samples to shrinkage, fire and x-ray flouresence test established Ifon sample to be good for bricks that is good for ceramic test kiln due to its relevance to electrical insulators, as a result of low shrinkage value while Akure and Omifunfun samples are good for cement production industry, paints industry, soap industry, chalk industry, ceramic industry, refractories producing industry and filler materials in the construction of roads. The economy of Nigeria and Ondo State stand the chance of excelling in the communities of nation in the world; this will be achieved via the observations raised in this research study which can be practiced in terms of small and large scale business for empowerment for the youth and citizenry at large. This in a way has added to the existing economic knowledge about Ondo State as a diversified state economy in the 21th century.
