dc.description.abstract |
The problem of comparing the dynamics of non-Newtonian fluids that suits the characteristics of
tangent hyperbolic and Casson fluid flow over a horizontal cylinder is an open problem in the
literature. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into a nonlinear ordinary
differential equations using suitable similarity variables. The resulting ordinary differential
equations are reduced to system of first order ordinary differential equations. The system of
ordinary differential equations are solved numerically using the Keller box method. The qualitative
properties of the model are established through a rigorous proof. The effect of Casson, power law
index, Hartmann, curvature, and Weissenberg parameters on the flow are shown graphically. The
results in the present study indicate that viscosity is more significant for the tangent hyperbolic
fluid compared to the Casson fluid at varying values of the Hartmann number. Finally, the results
of the present study are in perfect agreement when compared with the previous work in the
literature. |
