Abstract:
This research aimed to identify the influence of technology, in this instance, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) on the pre-press lithographic process in the printing industry in Ilorin, Nigeria, and to also enumerate factors or reasons responsible for the practitioners neglecting the profession thereby reducing manpower. Structured questionnaires were administered using Microsoft Form (https: forms.office.com) and distributed through the WhatsApp phone application, to the numbers of respondents practicing lithography/printing and graphic designers within Ilorin city. Only the primary data was adopted to elicit information from the respondents for the research and the result of the study were presented, with the findings discussed in the body of the research paper as
follows:
A total of 308 questionnaires were administered and there was 100% response and based on the objectives the analysis was done along with the statistical method adopted.
For Objective One, Frequency Count and percentage.
For Objective Two, Frequency Count and Percentage.
For Objective Three, Mean Score.
For Objective Four, T-Test
Calculating the mean and standard deviation
Using a likert scale of 1 to 5 with 1 represent the lowest agreeable point and 5 representing the highest agreeable point. From the likert scale, the mean and standard deviation of each of the
parameters was calculated.
Mean = 𝑠𝑢𝑚(𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑒∗𝑒𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑣𝑎𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑝𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑡) 𝑠𝑢𝑚 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑒
Standard Deviation = (𝑠𝑢𝑚(𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑒∗𝑒𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑣𝑎𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑝𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑡)² (𝑠𝑢𝑚 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑒)²
-𝑠𝑢𝑚(𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑒∗𝑒𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑣𝑎𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑝𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑡) 𝑠𝑢𝑚 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑒 )
