dc.description.abstract This study assessed the technological factor in urban solid waste management system in Lagos metropolis. This study utilized mostly data through the use of structured questionnaires. The questionnaires were designed in two sets. The first set was meant for officials concerned with waste management in Lagos metropolis. These include the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA). The questionnaire elicited information on the level of technology use and problems in waste management in the metropolis. The other set of questionnaire was administered to respondent on their views and evaluation of the technology factor in waste management n Nigeria. The main finding from this study is that technology use in waste management in Lagos metropolis and indeed Nigeria is still very low. This is one of the reasons why waste management has remained an intractable and embarrassing public therefore the need for government to pump more money into acquisition of equipment and facilities for waste handling and disposal. en_US
