dc.description.abstract People belong to different schools of thought as to what the computer is capable of doing. While some conceive it as a beneficial tool to mankind, others see it as a bane on the society. Some regard it as capable of usurping their positions while others see it as enhancing their job performance~ These can be termed as a determinant of people's attitudes towards computer. Hence, the desire to conduct a survey into the attitudes of people towards computer in the South-West region of Nigeria. The evolutionary trends of computer technology is reviewed. The existing works on the survey of the attitudes of people towards computer are reviewed. The review of factor analysis by principal components, the method adopted in the statistical analysis of the surveyed data, is carried out as well. The surveyed data are analysed using SAS (Statistical Analysis System) on a Power-flex personal computer, and the results obtained are reported. A comparative study of this work and some existing work is carried out and the results obtained presented. en_US
