Abstract:
The lack of standard sports facilities to train sports men and promote sportingactivities among the indigenes; so as to improve their performances at bothnational and international events requires proper planning of sports facilities inEkitistate. This however, motivated the proposed Ekiti state stadium complex, AdoEkiti which will consist of a well planned sports facilities that will prevent theoccurrence of tragic disasters and other social vices as regard crowd management, traffic flow, spectator comfort and welfare of the athletes including their supporting fans. The planning of sports facilities such as main bowl (football/athletic stadium), multi purpose indoor sports hall, training pitches and courts,administrative building and accommodation facilities to enhance efficient performance of the athletes is the main focus of the proposal. Theterrain and location of the site also facilitates the design concept, which will be devoid of distraction but attraction of different social functions recreation, tourism and other events at different times.
