Abstract:
The title of this lecture is meant to showcase the peculiar virtues of two morphologically and physiologically distinct reproductive units that have been specially conserved in all life forms since creation - the ovum which, is the female reproductive unit and the sperm (spermatozoon), which is the male reproductive unit. The beauty of procreation/reproduction as far as the male and female sexes are concerned is to bring together these two reproductive units through fertilization and syngamy thus producing another cell called zygote which will eventually undergo series of growth and developmental processes to a new individual capable of the continued existence of the contextual species.
