Abstract:
There have been different definitions of the concept of environment by different scholars and organized bodies/agencies. While some view the environment from an ecocentric and nature standpoints, others assign an anthropocentric/human related connotation to the term. From an anthropocentric point of view, the environment has been defined as the relationship of human beings with water, air, land and all biological forms; the combination of elements whose inter-relationships make up the settingssurroundings, and conditions of life of the individuals and the society (Bodansky, 2010).
