...The troposphere is the Earth's lowest atmospheric layer, accounting
for 75% of the atmosphere and containing 99% of its water vapor.
Composed primarily of nitrogen (78%) and oxygen (21%), it
experiences significant turbulence and is where most weather events
occur, extending from the surface to about 8 km at high latitudes and
16 km at the equator. Temperature decreases with altitude by
approximately 6°C per km, facilitating the vertical movement of air
that leads to cloud formation and precipitation. The tropopause, the
boundary above the troposphere, has a stable temperature, while
