dc.description.abstract An equipment was designed and constructed to study the flow characteristics of a fluid through a sharp-edged circular orifice. These characteristics include the coefficients of discharge for different values of Reynolds number and the coefficient of velocity. The equipment comprises a measuring tank, weir tank, weighing container, a sump and a simple beam balance. The components of the equipment were adopted for the study of error phenomenon in physical measurements The error parameters considered were the mean, standard deviation, standard error, percentage error and the levels of accuracy. en_US
