dc.description.abstract Frequent power failure, burning of protective devices and equipment at the FUTA Health Center can be attributed to the ad-hoc electrical installation at the Health Center. It is characterized by poor planning, inappropriate ratings and in some cases unanticipated loading of the circuits. In this thesis, the power needs at the Health Center are identified and transformed into the electric power requirements. Then an appropriate designed supply network using adequate protective devices, suitable cable ratings to replace the existing ones as well as an alternative supply (generator) in case of power failure is proposed. for the Health " Center. A clear guideline for the design of electrical services for Health Centers in tertiary institutions was highlighted and procedure for upgrading the electrical installation was produced. The results offered in this thesis will be useful when putting up FUTA Health Center physical structure in the ‘Master plan' location of the University. en_US
