| dc.description.abstract | The research adopted the case-study social survey research method to investigate: Millennium Village Projects (MVPs) in Ikaramu/Ibaramu; the socio-economic characteristics of the people; the beneficiaries of MVPs; problems associated with project implementation; and the strategies adopted for project implementation in the study area. Data for this study were collected from three survey segments, namely: household heads, State government workers and UNDP staff in the study area. Data were sourced from both primary and secondary sources. The primary data were gathered using a structured and an unstructured questionnaire and administered on household heads. The structured questionnaire was designed to elicit information on the socio-economic characteristics of the people; the available facilities in the study area and the impact of the projects on the people. Twenty percent (20%) of household heads were randomly selected for interview while a 100% survey of government and UNDP staffers were carried out. The unstructured questionnaire was administered on government and UNDP officials in charge of MVPs in the study area. The systematic random sampling technique was used to select respondents in the three survey segments during the field survey. This technique was applied to achieve the required data from the sample population in order to eliminate bias in the nature of data collected. Two hundred and nine(209) questionnaires were administered on different stakeholders including: household heads(129); State Government workers (60); and UNDP workers (20). Out of the 209 questionnaires administered on the various stakeholders,100, 60 and 20 were retrieved in usable form respectively showing 77.5,100 and 100 percent response rates in that order. | en_US |
