PROPOSED THREE STAR HOTEL, OKITIPUPA. (Enhancement of Hotel Scenery through Landscaing)

Abstract

This thesis is entitled Three Star Hotel, Okitipupa, Ondo State – Enhancement of Hotel Scenery through Landscaping. Movement from one place to another has become an integral and inseparable partofman’sactivities. Many factors lend themselves to this, ranging from business, tourism, education, pleasure, sports, and vacation e.t.c. These present man with the legitimate cause to leave his established place of residence for another temporary base, giving rise to his need of a transient accommodation in such places. These form the basis for the concept of hotels. Thus, Hotel is defined as an establishment providing rooms and meals for tourists and travelers. This work aimed at evolving auniquely reposeful and well ordered architectural environment with striking scenery that is refreshing and comfortable for all patrons. Through, an in depth library search, case studies, internet surfing and mentor’s contributions, the work explores the rich potentials of nature, landscape planning, and Architectural forms to create a haven for transients of all categories. The various stages and methods used in the design and planning of a suitable Hotel, which includes; space perception, functionality, site planning, aesthetic and general information leading to the presentation drawing of a suitable hotel are well explained inappropriate chapters. It is hoped that the work will provide a model and basic for future works by Architects, planners, and other stakeholders in the hospitality industry,as well as meet the need of the client.
