dc.description.abstract This paper seeks to analyze the problems identified in the development of Yoruba Palaces, hence offering a solution suitable to the specific circumstance encountered and contributing to advancement in the development of relevant, traditional features within a modern context. For the past thirty years Yoruba palace architecture has been guided by no definite principles. Evidence shows that throughout the world a lot of modern architectural and planning ideals have failed where ever the designer disregards the social, cultural and aesthetical value of the user. The fact is that very little is known about the experience which has been accumulated by the old master builders over hundreds of years. en_US
