| dc.description.abstract | Traffic congestion as an urban mobility problem has been well documented. It is perceived to be a result of rapid increase in population, in the face of poor growth in transport facilities such as good road, transport complimentary facilities ,transport services and traffic management techniques. This thesis is an attempt to solve the said problem which prevails in the study area, by proposing a contemporary Bus Terminal that will meet the population demand for mobility, as well as decentralize traffic by ensuring effective circulation within and around the facility. The research relied on explorative literature review, knowledge mining interview and case study of existing Bus Terminal within and outside Nigeria, in an endeavor to gather fact that led to the design synthesis. Base on the findings from this study . it is established that provision of necessary passenger facilities, their location in space both indoor and outdoor , and effectiveness of circulation within them, will go along way in solving the problem in question. | en_US |
