| dc.description.abstract | The violent nature of Nigerian society occasioned by armed robbers, hired assassin and hoodlums was as a result of the saturation of the environment with cash. Millions of naira are being carried about, kept in the house, banks etc. by individual business men for quick business transactions with attendant problems. The advent of electronic commerce has enabled researcher to work more on electronic payment systems. The civilized world is fast moving toward a cashless society. .Nigeria can not therefore afford to be left behind in replacing cash payment with electronic payment system. This research analyses the vnrious types or electronic payment systems (electronic cash, electronic Cheque, credit card and micro payment) with the aim of identifying the one that will he most suitable for the Nigerian environment and design its prototype for implementation. In this thesis, a survey of the various types of electronic payment systems in use was carried out. Questionnaire was designed and administered on the operators of the -clcctronic payment systems and c-comrncrcc. The data gathered Irorn respondents was subjected to statistical analysis to determine which one can be adapted to the Nigerian situation. A suitable e-payrncnt system for Nigeria was designed using Macrornedia Drcamwavcr MX Iorthcwcb pages, PHP [or server side scripting language and MySQL for the database. | en_US |
